Allies

This past weekend we went out on an adventure, my husband, my friend Kala and I.

We visited the most gorgeous cenote – a natural sinkhole – in the Mayan jungle and we were lucky enough to have the entire place to ourselves for a couple of hours.

Connecting with nature, enjoying the silence and the song of the birds, we even saw a monkey on our way over there and ran into a snake on the orchid’s path.

We got to let go of our stress, forget any worries, and released our inner Tarzan and Jane as we took several turns on the canopy and slide into the water.
As we went over to the far end of the 300-meter cenote, there was a platform to jump off of, my first reaction was yeah…let’s do this… I have jumped off of a ledge at least twice that high.

And then it happened.

I went up there and froze…. three attempts to jump off the 4-meter platform and every time I got to the edge, my gut went HELL NO… nervous laughter, giggles, and a WTF conversation with myself did not get me to jump… until Kala said “wait… I’m coming up to jump together”

So there we stood… the two of us, adult women, seasoned mothers and businesswomen that stand their ground and know what they want in life… on the ledge

Did we finally jump??

Sometimes all it takes is an ally willing to give you that nudge, to give you that boost of confidence to jump off the cliff.

Thank you Kala for inspiring me to jump! It was totally worth it.

Surround yourself with like-minded people that will inspire you and allow you to inspire them to grow and have fun along the way.
